The Gold Coast is a coastal city in the south east of Queensland famed for its long sandy beaches, surfing and elaborate system of inland canals and waterways. It’s also home to the Dream World, Sea World, Wet’n’Wild and Warner Bros. theme parks. Breakwaters on either side of the Seaway prevent longshore drifts and the bar from silting up. A sand pumping operation on the Spit pipes; and under the seaway, are continuing this natural process.
